Hello fellow Lobos!
This week in the Lobo Gardens is a busy one. Fall is here, and as we all know winter will be upon us shortly. For many perennial gardens winter spells the end of the growing season. Here at Lobo Garden RED we are preparing for winter by planting leafy greens and other plants which will thrive during the cold winter months. By putting a cold frame over our winter garden we are ensuring that there will be enough warmth to keep our budding greens comfortable.
The frames for our cold frame will be spaced evenly throughout the length of the garden bed. These frames will provide the support needed for the plastic covering. The plastic covering is important because it keeps in the heat, keeping the bed warm enough to grow during the winter.
As we prepare to put up the cold frame, the maintenance team lays out all the wood frames into their positions.
